REACH, the new EU chemicals regulation, requires that chemical substances on their own, in preparations and those which are intentionally released from articles have to be registered to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

The prior aim of REACH, one of the biggest quality policy and objectives of MELOS, is to protect human health and the environment. Since the registration process requires manufacturers and importers to generate data for all chemicals produced or imported into the EU above one ton per year, its effects will be strong.

MELOS supports REACH, and pre-registration of all the products produced by MELOS has been successfully completed. (11/2008)
